Michelle Carnes, NPMichelle grew up in Mesa and attended college at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing and then moved to Baltimore, MD to fulfill her desire of a career in Trauma Nursing. She worked at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in downtown Baltimore, which is one of the biggest and most well known trauma centers in the country. During this time, she attended graduate school at the University of Maryland where she graduated with a Master’s of Science degree and became a Certified Nurse Practitioner. She then worked at Towson State University in Towson, MD, as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing. She concurrently worked as a Nurse Practitioner in a medical practice in Glen Burnie, MD. Michelle had her first child, Thomas Jack (better known at TJ) on November 21, 2003 and then completed her family in October of 2007 after having identical twin girls, Sidney and Sophia. Being away from family for over seven years was very hard, so they moved back to Mesa to be closer to her family and enjoy the warmer climate! She has one brother who is in real estate in Mesa and her parents own the antique store Beyond Expression, also in Mesa. |

Lynne Fiore, NPLynne completed her basic registered nurse education in her native New York at Pilgrim State Hospital and Long Island University. She then traveled, working at Baltimore City Hospital (head nurse of gyn surgery), Plantation Hospital, Plantation Florida (set up an entire new labor and delivery suite) and finally Good Samaritan Hospital, Phoenix (where she became their youngest coordinator – a supervisory position). She received her masters of science and nurse practitioner degrees in combined programs through University of Minnesota - Minneapolis, Planned Parenthood of St. Paul, and the University of Phoenix. She has been inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and is nationally certified as a Nurse Practitioner. Nurse Practitioners are able to diagnose, treat, and prescribe medications independently. They teach clients how to achieve their ultimate happy, healthy self through lifestyle changes, exercise, a sense of humor and a positive outlook. Her specialty areas are yearly female exams (when you identify your health goals and together create a plan of action), birth control, female infections, and menopause management. Lynne has her own practice, and is bringing those clients with her when joining the Oasis team. She has a website – www.lynnefiore.com, and sends a monthly e-mail newsletter to her clients. Lynne is a frustrated ballerina – “I was too chunky for a tutu” – so medicine is really her alternative career as she still waits patiently to be discovered as a great dancer. She also climbs a Phoenix mountain a week, enjoys running in cooler weather, has an every morning date with her Nordic Trak, and plays the flute (poorly). Her husband is an author (he started “The New Times” in his Tempe apartment in 1970!), and they have a computer guru son, a lovely daughter – in – law, a bearded collie, a nasty parrot and a white java dove. |
